How Real Is Too Real? : Mylo Stefan Wants His Listeners To Wake Up!

As Hip Hop has evolved, music has experienced a lot of changes and artist styles. Within our current generation the music substance has become very surfaced. Are artist afraid to go deep? Have they become fearful of actually producing music with substance in fear that labels may not want to sign them? Is “mumble rap” the sound of the future?

Artist Mylo Stefan is here to bring back music with purpose. His entire music career, he has attempted to use his powers for good. On a mission to enlighten and entertain, his main goal was to highlight everything that was wrong with society through his word play. Though his motives were pure, to those that may not understand or know his purpose his tone may have came off condescending to the very people he was aiming to teach and guide. Understanding how important delivery was in his mission Mylo took a step back to reevaluate his music and how he wanted it to be received.

“I’ve always been gifted at spotting things wrong with society or in the black community so I tried to force-feed it to the people but that’s dead now. The way my style has transformed or really just the way my mind works now, rather than dwell on the problems, I use my music to offer solutions. So that starts with first educating myself.”

Music is the voice of an artists life experiences.

“Without real life experiences what the hell you talking about? So I needed to go through more shit, and boy did I! Trials and Tribulations that come with having a big heart in a game wit no love in it. Learned shit the hard way, went through a deep depression/isolation, came out better and with a much sharper sword. I can stand on my music is now. It’s me. Transparent. I learned to own my story. I earned a new perspective and it sounds like all the OG west coast shit I grew up listening to so I’m excited to finally share my music with the world again.” Mylo has taken time as an artist to disconnect from the music and focus on perfecting his work. His sound and knowledge has tremendously evolved. Devoting this time to creating 3 cohesive albums, a trilogy. The albums are a time capsule of everything taking place in the world.

“I feel like this album is important cause it’s vulnerable, ugly, precise, yet calculated. Highlighting problems and solutions within self first.”
