Behind The Sound: The art of Macizm

“I didn't know it at first, but when I was in the 5th grade I wrote my first Haiku. I fell in love with writing and found joy in figurative speech and its art form.”

Inspired by artist like Erykah Badu and Chris Brown, MACIZM was able to really the understanding of the creative expression behind music and how to take the audience on an emotional journey through the highs and lows. Amongst them, the structure for wordplay came through the OG's like Nas, Andre 3000, and Lil Wayne as well as the new goats like Wale, J Cole, Kendrick Lamar, and Drake. Inspired by many yet influenced by none MACIZM’s sound and artistic ability are like no other.

“My musical compositions have various aims. Depending on the mood I am when I created it. I usually aim to guide the hopeless romantics to find courage in loving themselves and finding out who they are by my experiences of pain, hurt, and self-reflection. the aim is to put you in my shoes my views of life and love.”

The artist creates music that aligns with the social issues pertaining to millennials when it comes to relationships and the importance of mental health when dealing with “situationships". From the artistry side, MACIZM has been experimenting with vocals and different sounds as well as looking into sound engineering to create his own sound. From the business side of things, he has been learning marketing techniques, improving graphic design skills, and coming up with technology ideas to give his audience a better experience.

“Music to me is a self-expression of the moment we reflect in realtime. using cadences and melodies, vocal fluctuations to create this euphoric surrealism, or a fanaticized version of how our lives are or what we think it to be. Music is made to reflect times it was created, a deep dive in an artist's soul.”
