Music Saved My Life: An Inside Look In The Life Of Alexandria Rose
As a child, Artist Alexandria Rose felt a calling on her life. Music was always something she was drawn to. Growing up in Georgia, she was surrounded and heavily influenced by all genres. Eager to discover new hits or learn from the oldies. Being raised in a house full of music enthusiast, Rose was often surrounded by a selection of tunes and melodies so much that she later began to write her own.
“I remember dressing up for “career day” in elementary school, and being the kid that walked in dressed as a music artist. It was one of the undeniable parts of me from the beginning. “
—Alexandria Rose
At the age of 13, Alexandria began to suffer from severe anxiety and depression which eventually led to self harm and eating disorders. She was forced into counseling and prescribed to multiple medications that never worked too well. Music became her outlet when everything else failed. Growing up with parents that both survived extremely traumatic childhoods, Rose was raised with barely any knowledge of what a “normal” family was supposed to be like. Her mother was abused & in and out of orphanages her entire childhood. As for her father, his mother was shot and killed when he was very young. Her stage name was inspired by her late grandmother, Roseann, and one of her main reasons she decided to go by her real name as an artist.
After her passing, Alexandria’s father was left to take care of his younger brothers with the help of her great grandmother from Sicily. This taught her to be proud of her Sicilian heritage and their resilience instilled a major work ethic into her. Her family played a big part in the artist she has become today. One of her biggest influences was her aunt Stephanie, whom she lost to liver cancer when she was 19. She embodied all the characteristic of a boss, traveling all over the world working as a TNT broadcaster. She was the kind of women who did and said whatever she wanted at all times with no filter. She was confident and powerful but also very kind.
Through all the trials and tribulations Alexandria Rose continues to thrive in her music career. She attended Atlanta Institute of Music for audio engineering opening up many doors and helped build her confidence in the industry. In February, she won first place at the Meet The Underdogs artist showcase eventually leading to her most recent work with Street Exec artist Sleepy Rose on their latest release, Good Life. It’s going to be on her first ever album called Platinum Rose. Rose finds it important to present an unfiltered belief system that everyone simply just wants to live a “good life”. As we are living through seemingly stressful times, we need good vibes and she is here to provide them.
