Voice of the Oppressed: Mr. Yucks Impact On The World

Mani Paris, better known as Mr. Yuck is conscious rapper from Prince Georges County Maryland. Constantly using his voice to spit knowledge and share wisdom to the black community. His music heavily influenced by Black power ideologies and the teachings of the 5% Nation of Gods and Earths. He has self proclaimed himself the “voice of the oppressed” because from the beginning his mission has always been to inspire those who were going through the struggle and help them find the light at the end of the tunnel through his timeless music. The modern day Malcom X of music.

Growing up in Prince Georges County Maryland, though a thriving black community, as a black man you often face the “crabs in a barrel mentality”. Essentially meaning you deal with a lot of people who don't want to see you succeed if that means that you're ahead of them. Leaving Yuck to feel he doesn’t often receive the recognition he feels he deserves. Though he may not have received his flowers quite yet we are left to wonder is he simply before his time or right on time for the current state of the world? With Africans Americans and supporting cultures at war with the US Government and judicial system a powerful voice like Mr. Yuck’s may be exactly what the people need.

As an artist it is essential to always be ahead of the game and Yuck doesn't waste any time, as he is always working, growing, and becoming more polished as a rapper. He is currently working on an upcoming album “When It Finally Exist”  that’ll be some of the most compelling music he has ever put out.
